Day 1: Arrival in Arequipa (-/-/-)
Reception at the airport or bus station of Arequipa and transfer to your
hotel. In the afternoon we start to our guided city tour in which we
will visit the Main Square, the Cathedral, La Compañia and San Francisco
churches, Municipal Museum and Santa Catalina Convent.
Day 2: Arequipa - Colca Valley (B/L/-)
After the breakfast we leave Arequipa towards Chivay in the Colca Canyon.
On the way we pass through the national reserve Pampa Cañahuas where we
hopefully can see wild vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. From the viewpoint
of Patapampa we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the snow covered
mountains and nearby volcanoes. We will have lunch in the town of Chivay
and after that you can visit the hot springs and pools (entrance fee not
included). We spend the night in a hotel in the Colca Valley.
Day 3: Colca Valley - Arequipa (B/L/-)
Early in the morning we leave for an excursion in the Colca Canyon. On
the way we visit beautiful typical towns like Yanque or Maca. We see
colonial churches, gently people with typical needlework dresses and
hundreds of pre Inca terraces with Andean growings. On the "cross of the
condor" (Cruz del Condor) viewpoint we look out for condors and if we
are lucky we will see the flight of this majestic bird. Back in Chivay
we have lunch and return to Arequipa where we will arrive in the late
afternoon.
Day 4: Arequipa - ? (B/-/-)
Transfer to the airport or bus station for your travel to your next
destination or flight back home.
